Metal Braces

When you picture “braces” in your head, those are metal braces. Thankfully, orthodontic technology continues to get better and better, meaning that your braces can be more comfortable than ever.

Metal brackets are bonded directly to your teeth, and they use wires and elastic bands to straighten your teeth. You’ll get to pick from tons of fun colors for your rubber bands every time you come in for a check-up, so you can style your smile however you want!

Self-Ligating Braces

Self-ligating braces are also made with metal brackets and wires, but they don’t use elastic bands. Instead, their brackets are designed with special clips that hold the wires in place.

This means shorter appointments for you, since your doctor doesn’t have to change out all of those rubber bands. Self-ligating braces use smaller brackets, and we also offer options for ceramic clear brackets. You might even forget they’re there!

Clear Braces

Clear braces are a great choice for people who want to keep a low profile with their braces.

Clear brackets are much less visible than metal brackets, but being made from ceramic means that they’re more fragile and require some extra care to stay in good shape. If you go with ceramic braces for your treatment plan, make sure to keep on top of your oral hygiene.

Clear Aligners

Clear aligners straighten your teeth just like braces, but they use transparent acrylic trays instead of bonding brackets to your teeth.

They’re nearly invisible, and rather than having to change rubber bands or adjust brackets at your appointments, you’ll get new aligners as your teeth shift throughout your treatment plan.

Clear aligners are removable, which means you can eat or drink your favorite things without worrying about damage to your appliance. Brushing and flossing become a breeze, and there’s no risk of broken brackets or wires poking or scraping your mouth.

Ochoa Orthodontics uses both uLab and Invisalign clear aligners.
